Does it cost anything to buy?
No. Feel free to browse around the site as much as you like. If you are interested in an item, just click the contact seller button and you will be able to email the seller directly via this site.
Does it cost anything to sell?
No. After you register, you can list up to 10 items for free!  Each free listing will have one picture and will remain on the site for two months, or until it is removed by the seller.  If you have lots to sell and need more than the ten "freebies", purchase a package.    With a package, a seller can list an unlimited amount of items with three pictures on each listing.  
What do I do when an item has sold?
It is the buyer’s responsibility to mark items as SOLD. To do this, go to the "my account" page. Under "listings", click the "edit item" button next to the item that has sold. You will be taken to the "category" page of that item, where you will need to continue on to the the next page by pressing"click here to finish editing your item". On this page, about halfway down, uncheck the little box to hide the item from the site. If for some reason the sale of your item falls through, you can always check the box again to have your listing reappear.
How long will my items be listed for?
An item will disappear off the site:
1. After your package has expired (1 month, 2 month, 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month packages are available). Time begins when you purchase your package. If an item or items have not sold, you can always purchase another month of selling time. To maintain a clean site, free listings will be removed after two months
2. When a seller has hidden the item by "unchecking the box" (see above question: What do I do when an item has sold)
3. When flagged multiple times by users.
4. If we deem it inappropriate for the site
Can I list items after the sale has started?
Absolutely. This is your yard sale. You can add and remove items at your convenience. Ideally, you will want your items to be seen throughout the entire the sale, but if you want to add something towards the end you can. Just remember, all items will be removed when your package expires.
What is a “red flag”?
Any user can “red flag” an item. We look at all flagged items. If an item receives three red flags it will automatically be removed from the system. Also, if an item is inappropriate it will only need one flag to get it removed from this site. Flag an item if it is:
~ Offensive: anything inappropriate for a family/community website. Sex-related items are absolutely inappropriate.
~ Re-post: for the seller that likes to keep their items on the front page.
~ Not an item: for users who post announcements and other non-items.
~ Wrong category: for sellers that post their items in the wrong category.
Can I advertise on Crystal Coast Yard Sales?
Yes, please advertise with us. CrystalCoastYardSales.com is a premiere advertising medium for the Crystal Coast of Eastern North Carolina and its surrounding communities. On average, a single visitor will see your ad 100 times in a month. We offer very affordable advertising options.
Do I need to register?
To register, choose a username and password. Registering protects buyers, sellers and Crystal Coast Yard Sales. By registering, you agree to the terms and conditions of Crystal Coast Yard Sales.
Can I post my yard sale I’m having this weekend on Crystal Coast Yard Sales?
Yes, and it’s free! After registering, just hit the “post a yard sale” button found at the bottom of our home page. You will then be able to put in the details of your yard sale for thousands to see. Yard Sale-ers will even be given a map to your house! And please remember, if you don’t sell everything you wanted to, come back and post your items here.
Can retailers sell their stuff on Cyrstal Coast Yard Sales?
Crystal Coast Yard Sales is for everyone! We offer six and twelve month packages to make it easier for individuals and businesses. Or, just try it out for a few months to see if this venue will work for you.
 
Why doesn't my listing show up in the community search?
When a seller uses a free listing, the only information we ask for is a username and password.  If you would like your item to be viewed in the community search, just click the "update account information" button found on your account page and fill in the required fields.
